Come prepared for the dayâs weather. Remember you are at an outdoor event and the event is âRain or Shineâ, so bring the necessary rain gear, including hats, umbrellas, etc. if it is raining. If it is hot and sunny, dress lightly and remember to bring sunscreen, hats, etc. If it is cold, bring warm clothing, etc. Many paddlers get wet while racing, so do remember to bring a change of clothing, especially if the weather is cold and/or rainy. Running shoes may also get wet, so you may prefer to have crocs, flip flops or teevaâs to wear while you are on the boat.
In case of extreme weather â lightening, torrential downpour or high winds, tune into Virgin Radio at 95.9 FM the morning of the race for details.
There are some picnic tables with attached seating but not nearly enough to accommodate the 1200-1500 people we expect on Race Day. Bring your own chairs, blankets, towels, etc.
